The Romanov Relic: The Erimus Mysteries: Book 1

About

Hilarious comedy thriller! Private Detective, Bill Hockney is murdered while searching for the fabled – Romanov Eagle, cast for The Tsar. His three nephews inherit his business, setting about, not only discovering its whereabouts but also who killed their uncle. A side-splitting story, full of northern humour, nefarious baddies, madcap characters, plot twists, real ale, multiple showers, out of control libido, bone-shaped chews and a dog called Baggage. Can Sam, Phillip and Albert, assisted by Sam’s best friend Tommo, outwit the long list of people intent on owning the statue, while simultaneously trying to keep a grip on their love lives? Or will they be thwarted by the menagerie of increasingly desperate villains? Solving crime has never been this funny!
The story has been re-edited and revised in 2025 to reflect the author’s continued progress as a writer.

Praise for this book

This is the third book that I have read by John Regan and I didn't know if I would enjoy a "comedy" thriller.
However, this is a very funny and fast paced read that made me laugh but also kept my interest with a twisting plot and a tale of murder, theft, love and friendships.
The main characters are likeable and they all bring a different perspective to the story.
Definitely worth a read.

Excellent read , read it very quickly as it’s a real page turner. I live local to the area the book is set in so was good to know where the author was talking about. Some great characters not all likeable but I think that’s good in a book. We all love a villain lol
Looking forward to book 2

Full of intrigue, humour, characters you really come to like, excellently written. Awesome book!
